Rockin the Mexican worship!

It's New Years Eve and right now we are rockin at a church in Mexico. I am writing this out on my iPod and it's the first time to have any Internet here. So to make it short we're having an awesome trip! The family we are building for is beautiful! This morning when our van showed up at the site, I got out and was attacked by their 5 year ok son with a huge hug. VBS is going great as well. Everyone on the team is healthy and God is working in every one of our hearts. We've had opportunities to play with kids, pray for people in the villages, and hear incredible stories. We're Outta Here!!

It's almost 11pm on Saturday night.
In less than 12 hours, 38 of us will be driving south headed for Mexico.
God is going to do amazing things for the families we are there to bless with a home.
God is going to do amazing things in the kids we are there to share the Bible with.
God is going to do amazing things at Agua Viva Children's homee.
God is going to do amaxing things in the hearts of each servant from CLC going on the trip.

We will do our best to post some pictures and info as internet service allows so that you can share this experience with us, and even more, so you can be praying for us.

New Family For Mexico Building

A while back we shared about the family we would be building a house for in Mexico.  We have learned that when you're planning a trip to Mexico, you have to be flexible with plans.  This is really true of just about any cross cultural missions trip.

Well, plans have changed.

Apparently the family that we were supposed to build for decided to leave in the middle of the night.  They have most likely moved on to another migrant camp.  But there is definitely no shortage of need in Mexico.  We now have another family ready for us to build for them.  This one is a husband in wife with 3 kids.  Here are a few pictures of the kids and their current living siuation:

We had our first Mexico team meeting this past Sunday for our trip.  It included getting to know each other a little better, learning some Spanish worship songs, talking about what to expect, preparing memory verses for VBS, and praying over the trip as a team.

This is going to be an incredible life changing experience.  If you aren't going, but you want to, there are a few spots that have opened up, but we need to know ASAP!!

Glimpse Of Mexico: Part 2

Here's a quick view of the migrant camp where we will be building a home.  Sunday morning we will be showing more of the current shelter itself and showing the area.

Glimpse Of Mexico: Part 1

This past Monday, I got to travel down south to see where we are going in Mexico and what we will be doing.  I got some pictures and video while I was there as well.  I'll share some of the stuff off my trusty SD1000 over the next week or two.  The full story and footage from the actual video camera will be shared at the Sunday gathering on Sept. 21st, but here's some sneak peaks at the blog!

I'm excited to share some of the trip with everyone here.  What I was really struck by is the need that is down there, and the opportunities we have to do significant ministry.  I can't wait to be down there with our entire team!

The first clip is the start of our trip.  Meet John Rose.  John is the founder and director of Baja Bound Ministries along with his wife, Stephanie.

Baja Bound!

Ed mentioned this past Sunday that we will be heading down to Ensenada, Mexico the week after Christmas on a missions trip.  We will be traveling with Baja Bound Ministries from Dec. 27th-January 3rd.

While we are there we will be holding a Vacation Bible School for local children, as well as building a house for a family of migrant workers who are currently living underneath a blue tarp.  Here is an example of a house that they built recently for a family:

Prices are subject to change still, but we are planning to ask each person going to contribute $100 to help with the ministry costs.  Beyond that, we will be asking our church family to send our team by contributing the approximately $10,500 it will cost to build the home and host the VBS. 

This will be a great opportunity for us as a community to give of our time and resources to really influence the world for Christ.  Perhaps God is calling you to give something to be a part of making the trip happen.  Or better yet, maybe He want's you to travel to Mexico with us to be a part of the front lines.
