This week there are a couple of people from our church helping at Gleanings For The Hungry. Please keep them in prayer as they have the chance to serve people across the globe from right here in California.
Here's a little bit that Ed had to share on his blog:
Gleanings is owned and operated by Youth With A Mission. While here we are processing fruit to be dried, packaged, and sent off to starving people around the world. There is a processing plant where the fruit is sorted, cut and stacked on trays. After it sits for a day in the sulfur sheds, it is laid out in the hot sun for a week. There are about fifty to sixty people working this week. Most of them youth groups. Yesterday we processed 180,000 pounds of fruit. Today we only had a half a day of work, but we still did 75,000 pounds.
